Research interest and lab background

I’m Technician in Pathology and Cytology since 2005 and I have worked in marine research since 2006 as lab assistance.

I have developed my work at the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Santiago, from 2006 to 2010 doing analysis of shellfish poisons in fresh samples of bivalve molluscs, preserved food and feeds by the techniques of mouse bioassay and HPLC.

From 2010 to 2012 I had a technical scholarship at the Center for Marine Research (CIMA), Xunta de Galicia. I have worked in sampling for shellfish in the beach, histological process of molluscs, observation by microscopy and molecular techniques (DNA extraction, PCR and FISH).

In September 2012 I joined the team Fisheries Ecology of Marine Research Institute of CSIC in Vigo. My job consist in histological process and estimate fecundity for samples of gonad fish. I have also participated in the FLEMISH CAP-13 oceanographic and fisheries campaign, in Newfoundland, onboard the R / V Vizconde de Eza for technical support staff.

I have made 14 complementary courses and I have acquired the certification of Category B to handling animals for research.
